Trans issue

Was having a squeak like sound (almost like a belt) from a stop and again when shift to 2nd. Dealer told me Flapper Valve... so I replaced exhaust with Borla etc... still had same issue... Then trans started to "blip" up 200 RPM (nothing major) but the down shifts (especially between 4 - 3 and 3 -2 and again 2 -1 would give me "bump/hard shift" feel. Went to a new dealer and they actually listened and found a bad trans. "Large amount of metal shavings in the pan etc..." Under warrantee to they put a new trans in. They did not rebuild. 24 hours later and I am getting worse down shifts and now I was on the highway on cruise control @ 68 MPH) and the cruise turned off, check engine light came on, and traction control flashed. All resolved themselves within 30 seconds. Thoughts? (Of course I will be returning to dealer Monday)

Do have the ability/tools to pull up the codes that are present?

I put my scanner on and says no codes (check engine flashed and cleared when the issue happened earlier).

Took to deal... was misfires... Seems odd that that would also cause the trac control to flash.

It is tied to the emissions system, the CEL will trigger numerous types of error's.

Was the CEL steady, or was it flashing? Did they know why it misfired?

Flashed.... said misfires are "common" and too not worry about it. Said the light flashed because it was 10 (I think that's the # he gave) in a short amount of time.

Hmm, have you thought about taking it somewhere else?

When I had a a flashing CEL (the really bad type), I ended up with a broken push rod in my 16.

I had an unexplained misfire event in my 2018 at around 45,000 miles....think it was cylinder five. Flashing check engine light - lasted maybe 10 seconds and then it went out.

Pulled plugs, swapped coils, ran it driving home with a scanner hooked up. Light never did come back on, but I’ll tell yeah, that engine had random misfires as I watched live stream data. It also was minus 20 on fuel trim at some points. For five thousand miles later the check engine light didn’t return, but I could feel either a misfire under load going up hills or it was torque converter shutter. Pulled pan, changed filter in tranny....no metal was found, everything looked good.

I like things to run right, it bothers me when they don’t...it bothers me when someone is in my truck and says...what’s that? Is that a misfire? I can feel that. Your truck is almost brand new, that shouldn’t be happening. Dealer was no help. Ended up selling it with 52,000 absolutely babied and well cared for miles. I’m talking BABIED...80% highway miles at 68 mph. Never towed, hauled, original rims, easy easy life. Every fluid meticulously changed and maintained. Dealer bought it from me for $24,500.
