I have a 2020 silverado 1500 LT z71 with a lower strut 2" leveling kit and I recently installed a 1" block myself in the back and its a little higher in the back about 1/2" so I want to get a 2.5" upper strut kit from Motofab I guess and install it myself which looks fairly easy from what I have seen but I'm not 100% sure on turning the strut 180 degrees and how hard it will be?  Is the strut hard to turn? I do not have a vice made for a strut so I was thinking when I place strut back on the truck that i could fasten the top and then try and turn it from the bottom.  Anyone done this at home with regular tools?   I asked rough country about it and they said turning the strut is simple.

Get a 0.5” rear block instead of 1.0”? 
 

I think that would be the easiest, cheapest, and less stressful solution.

How hard was it to install the rear block with basic tools?

The rear block was pretty easy to install.  I bought an impact wrench but could've done it without.  The most time consuming part for me was finding a spot to jack it up where i felt comfortable getting under it on the driveway but it was sloping everywhere so I had to clear out the garage and pull in there which was in the shade anyway.

Yea I guess that would but dont want to go down lol had a hard enough time finding the 1" block so 1/2" is probably very hard

I installed the 2.5 Moto fab top mount front spacer on my 20 Sierra Crew Cab. I liked that you didn't have to disassemble and rotate  the strut 180 degrees but had a hard time getting the lower mounting tab angle from the strut twisted around to get the bolts threaded in on the first side. The angle of the tabs ends up flipped in the opposite direction after mounting the top spacer. When I did the opposite side I used a large adjustable wrench to twist the bar angle to get the bolts to align. Went together much easier when installing the strut then.

I just installed the motofab 2.5" kit and had trouble getting the mounting flanges rotated.  I put the strut in my standard vice (protected the flange with a welding glove).  I will say that getting it to rotate in the bushing was difficult.  I actually broke my old vice.  It wouldn't lock in place any longer and rotated with the strut so I made a harbor freight run to get a new vice.  You could mount the strut at the top and rotate the flange with a really big adjustable wrench.  I actually did the first side this way after the vice broke.  It might be the best way since you can see the angle needed.  Just be careful not to bend the top mount or bolts.  I'm telling you - mine were hard to turn.  My truck has 12k miles on it so maybe a newer one would be easier.  My only trouble with the rear blocks was getting the frame lifted high enough to get the 2" gap needed to install the blocks.  Install videos make it look easy, but I don't have a frame lift like EVERYONE on youtube does.

I just purchased a 2020 Silverado 4wd Z71 LT this past weekend. I think I'm going to install the Moto Fab kit as mentioned above.  Has anyone had any trouble with the ball joints or cv axles?  I'm coming from having a Ram and a Titan and both had issues when I leveled them.  Thanks
