I recently purchased this 2016 Silverado 1500 LTZ.

It seems really low in the rear.  I was hoping someone might be able to help me determine why.

I don't know what the factory suspension is supposed to look like to determine if it's been altered.

Thanks

Looks like someone lowered it by putting the axle above the leaf instead of below.  Here's mine

The leafs are supposed to be above the axle.  Front end may have some kind of drop on it too.

Yup, previous owner lowered it.

Looks like my old truck, except mine was stock height.

Somebody lowered it. Lol!

Dude, if you knew it didn't look right, you don't buy it!

Looks great at that ride height, I wouldn't change a thing.

Looks like a 2/4 lowering job. The front either has drop spindles or drop struts with a flip kit in the rear for the 4in rear drop. They also chopped the factory bump stop bracket off the frame to allow for the flip kit. So when it bottoms out, you'll feel it lol.

If you plan to do any towing you will need helper bags in the rear.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge.  I've attached pics from the front end.  It seems to be stock.  What do think?

It's hard to tell in the first pics but the truck has a little squat.

I like the way it looks now but want to get an idea of what I have.  And make sure there's nothing crazy going on.

I don't do any towing or hauling.  Definitely a street only truck too.

The spindle looks factory in those pictures. I'd think they did something with the strut. They sell drop struts and they sell kits that lower the spring perch on the strut body to bring the ride height down.

For reference my truck is has a 1.5/3in drop. Taking these measurements from the passenger side it's 34.5in from the garage floor to the fender on the front and 35.5in in the rear and I have a full tank of fuel. The drivers side is a tad lower because that is where the fuel tank is.

Take some measurements and you'll be able to compare with mine to see how low yours really is.

That's pretty similar to mine. You also have 20's and I'm on 18's so I sit a little closer to the ground based on tire size.

So with that information we know it's about a 1.5/3in drop as well, just performed a different way.
