Who has them, and how do you like them?

I've had mine on since about a week after I got my truck. Love them and will put them on any truck I buy. No issues whatsoever.

Seeing as you're from Michigan I would take the snow into consideration. I had a set on my K2 and loved them until winter hit. Once you do a bit of driving on the highway and that slush builds up and freezes they become a pain. I had them freeze solid on me a few times and they wouldn't actuate open. I found myself at the coin op car washes a few times a week trying to clear them off.

I’m very happy with them. Last winter was fairly mild here in WI but I didn’t have any trouble with the snow or freeze ups. The little front mud flap seems to divert most of it.

They look nice on your truck! My truck parks in a heated garage over night, so the freezing shouldn't be too big a deal. I see they sell 3 different models of steps - what did you buy? Is it necessary to get the model with two motors per side?

Mine are the basic ones, single motor. I can’t see a reason I would need anything more.

I too am looking to have these installed in the future.

Just talked to my local dealer and asked him the same question about the XL version with the two motors. He explained that unless your truck is lifted considerably he would recommend against the XL models. They apparently drop lower then the standard model and may be too low to be effective. In my mind more motors are better but not if they drop so low they are useless.

I have had mine for a little over a week. Installed them myself in my driveway, took about 3 hours total.

On a stock height 2020 Silverado 1500 4x4 LTZ, they seem to drop low. When measured it's about 8 inches from ground to top of step.

Once I figure out a lift for the truck, they will make more sense.

I’ve had mine for over 1 year, Canadian winter wasn’t an issue.

Any and all of my future truck will have these.

Didn't even make it on the truck!

Sorry for the low quality photos. I used the thumbnail pic from Google photos so I could upload several pics. I was too lazy to resize the original pics.

I'm pretty ticked off that Amp Research doesn't put ANY foam in the shipping box. They expect a thin layer of saran wrap type plastic to protect these steps. Thinking about not ordering again as I have no faith in these steps making it here.

Well I guess the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I called Amp Research and explained what happened. I complained about the lack of packing material and was told that's just how it is. They ship them with either paper or plastic. No foam or anything like that. Dude told me I could go through warranty. Was pretty indifferent about it. I figured just replacing the boards under warranty and pushing ahead with my install was the easiest thing for me rather than going through the refund process with the reseller. I'm pretty satisfied with that. So I'm a happy camper for now. I'll get ready to queue up some curse words for the install process though :-).

What is everyone paying for them? I spoke to my local performance shop that just installed my exhaust. They are an authorized seller / installer so I am thinking of going that route in case they start acting up. Guy said they will support them no problem.

I used to own a series of Tacoma’s for 10+ years. There was always a group buy of some sort going in for things like this. Are there any group buys to speak of here or on products like this? Seems like someone with a relationship with the manufacturer could work out a deal on 50 or so of these. Maybe not in a COVID world though.
