Hey Guys,

When I purchased my '19 elevation over a year ago it had crappy all season tires on it I did not want. I opted to have the dealer swap my Trailrunner AT's off my old truck, which would help me sell my old truck private party ( I got 4k more than they offered for a trade in ?)

Well fast forward to now and I have 40k miles on those tires, they are worn to the tread bar, and i need new ones before winter here in upstate NY. I could get a new set of the Trailrunner AT's, but I like change and they did not last as long as I wanted.

Right now I am looking at KO2's. I do a lot of highway driving for work and travel, but i also own an off grid property I need to get back to, and enjoy going into the mountains whenever I want. So In a tire i want variety.

I am about to pull the trigger on KO2's but wanted people's opinion here. Lets say I put 25k a year on my truck: Highway 10k miles towing on my vehicle per year, another 10k highway driving not towing, another 5k mountains/off road/deep snow.

On BF Goodrich's website it states that *This tire needs to be inflated to 48 PSI and your TPMS system may need to be recalibrated*. Is anyone running this PSI now? I always ran around 45 PSI but when I got in my sierra 45 PSI provided one harsh ride. So I am down to the stock 35psi now, never had a truck where you can feel the ride change so drastically with a few PSI increase.

Does anyone have any comments, experiences or can recommend the best AT tire for my needs? I plan on putting billstein shocks in the rear to help with the ride, but that's not totally priority at the moment.

Thanks!

Falken Wildpeaks and Michelin LTX M/S are also good options for you. Also Nitto Terra Grapplers are a good highway tire with good offroad capabilities.

I've never been a fan of KO2's, they work good but one flaw is that they are a soft tire for 1/2 it's life and a hockey puck for the other half. Towing and lots of city driving will scrub those tires pretty easy. I know you don't own a 3/4 or 1 ton truck but they are the worst choice if someone towed trailers all day every day.

I'm going to be upgrading mine to Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT on my Elevation

I installed Cooper AT3 XLT ‘s yesterday on my 2018 Sierra with 2” RC level. No rubbing issues with 275/60r20. They look even better in person. I’m glad I tried a different tire other than the KO2.

Again, they look even better in person. I was a KO2 fan forever until I got these.

Not a KO2 fan either. Much better tires out there for the money over BFG's. I too will be running Cooper's when I need them. Have run them on my trucks in the past. Just don't know if I will run the AT3 or the Zeon LTZ that I have had really good luck with in the past.

Another vote for the Coopers, I am switching to them in the next month or so. I have also never been a fan of the BFG's over the years, most expensive yet out performed by many newer tires and living on their 80's status with a eerily similar tread design. They are above average off road, below average on road (and susceptible to hydro-planning with their C-shaped tread) as well as a little noisy and bad on mpg. The  LTX MS wouldn't be a good choice as 5k miles are in the back country and these are a road tire. The wildpeaks are an excellent choice it seems as well, getting tons of great reviews. I have also read good things about the Continental AT's, very well behaved on the road and can handle leaving the pavement as well as the Bridgestone's though they are as expensive as the BFG's. Hankook makes a good performing and well priced tire. One thing with tires, most expensive doesn't mean best...

If you want something as aggressive as the BFG's without going hybrid AT/MT I ran the General Grabber AT's for years with great success. Snow peak rated, studdable, deep tread and an open pattern and well priced. They just redesigned them and reviews are positive.

Just got me new shoes today. I'll do a full review down the road once I have more miles but from the 15 minute drive home and the initial look and feel of these Cooper AT3 Xlt's I am very satisfied, totally worth it.

I went with 285/60/20...I have a 1.5" leveling kit up front. No issues at all. 4ae8bedb18f07c98a433af1c5de99608.jpgdf45fe63b98586338d774e983131bdd4.jpg0880118e4fc0e5d01edc442266e4afe0.jpg

    • On 2021 3500hd it consistently sets automatically when selecting park if the incline/decline is above a certain angle.
    • Curious, did anyone ever get a fix for the vibration reported here.   I have a 2024 Silverado with 6.6 duramax.   I’m noting the same vibration resonating up through the steering shaft into the steering wheel.    Best way to describe- like someone is tapping on the steering shaft/components and it’s resonating into the steering wheel.    thanks.
    • Hi friends - first time poster. I have a 2015 sierra Denali with 150k miles, I’m the second owner and she’s given me 75k of great service. I run a pulse AFM disable device. Starting Thursday when I exited the freeway after a short local ride it started idling rough, with an obvious misfire shake and was down on low end power.  I got it home and hooked it up to my scannner and found no codes but in live data a pretty bad misfire on cylinder 5. I replaced the coil, plug and wire with all new OE replacements (Delphi gn10165 coil, acdelco wire and 41-168 plug). It’s still behaving the same way after firing the parts cannon at it.   I know cyl 5 is a non AFM cylinder so I am not thinking this is AFM related but I’m kinda at a loss. injector? Bent pushrod? It’s running too well over 1k rpm to suggest those IMO. Has anyone chase this issue before and what was it? Any suggestions?
    • 2017 Silverado L83 5.3l 6speed transmission Hello, not a new member but havent posted in a while and my old signup info isnt working so had to create a new account. anyways, I have an issue with my truck and hope someone can spread some light on whats happening: -when it goes to 4cyl mode it makes a clunk sound (but not when coasting or going downhill) -when in 4 cyl mode and under load it makes a load pulsating sound (not a tick). -goes away completely when in M5 gear or when plugging in an AFM delete. Im guessing it is one of 2 things but im not convinced of either to be honest. 1. lifter stuck in v8 mode 2. torque converter shudder realistically it doesn't seem like the TC as there is no physical vibration , and it never happens in v8 mode. but maybe? and wouldnt a lifter make a sound whether with load or not? any ideas let me know please. thank you!
    • Which has made me wonder with the various engine failures of a few brands in the last few years, is it sub par materials such as lifters etc causing failures, or bearing clearances on the crank etc or perhaps bad designing of an engine physically or causing too much load on the components due to the hp/torque they can push out of them. Or is the oil viscosity and additive package of current oils or a lack of oil flow by an oil pump not able to supply sufficient oil at idle or under high load at low rpm. Or is it every item I listed that combined together has pushed the limits so far to the left that there is hardly a margin of safety left and add in some fuel dilution and too long of an OCI and premature engine failure is the result ?.
