I'm getting new tires this week and as it is right now I have an appointment on Wednesday at bj's. I'm getting the general tire grabber hts60. my question is does bj's get the same tires that townfair or any other tire place would get. I know say buying a tv from BJs the model # is slightly different than say bestbuy. just want to see or make sure no one has had problems going to BJs or should I got to townfair?.... thanks

The tires you buy from say a discount tire are the same tires you can buy at any mom and pop shop or independent shop.

The smaller folks are just buying their stock from a wholesaler. Most large companies are getting their orders straight from Goodyear/Michelin/Bridgestone etc etc  and they fill their daily needs from the local wholesaler.

The tires should be generally the same.

I do my research on tire rack, using the ratings system/reviews, and then buy wherever is cheapest, local or ordering online.

Check out TireBuyer as well. I've ordered two sets of tires from them on two different vehicles and they had the best prices around. They ship to one of your local installers and they give you approx. quotes on how much install/balancing comes out be.
