peterlawl84 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 I have a 2014 Silverado LT, did the io6 upgrade (originally io5). The right knob on my radio control is messed up. Looks like its one large piece (Radio module interface). I am trying to find a replacement and was wondering if one off of a 2500 would work or I need to make sure its from a 1500? thanks in advance
VanguardK2 Posted November 7, 2020 Posted November 7, 2020 The full size GM trucks all have the same interiors. You can swap over anything from a 1500-3500 with no issues provided it isn't something that is diesel specific. The radios are all interchangeable as the same i05 or i06. Steering wheels and dash components, seats, all of it is the same. You should be goodSent from my SM-G986U1 using Tapatalk 1

If you reread the OP's post, he's saying the KNOB is messed up. When you take apart the screen and the radio controls, you can replace them with a new unit. Thats how people change interior colors when they want something other than factory. The knows and screens, provided they are the correct size (4", 7", and 8") are interchangeable. The programming part is on the I05 and i06 modules which he said he already replaced. Frankielozano214 sells screen and switch units for color conversions all the time. And the interiors are correct because you need to look at them. I said same between 1500-3500 because they are solverado and sierra trucks. Yukon and Tahoe are same because they are SUVs. You need plugs and adapters for interior mods but you'd need nothing to install a dash panel, seats, carpet and door panels between the series of trucks. Canbus is for programming, but what he's asking about doesn't require a reprogram. Its a screen and switch (radio knob) replacement at worst case. Sent from my SM-G986U1 using Tapatalk 1

But it’s not exactly screw it on and your done with most anything thats electronic.
peterlawl84 Posted November 17, 2020 Author Posted November 17, 2020 Thanks for the info, found a replacement one off another 1500. But just FYI to Vanguard, not all the interior is the same between 1500 vs 2500, the steering wheels have different weights in them, I have already done the heated steering swap on both my Silverado and Sierra and had to watch out to make sure to order the correct P/N for a 1500 and not 2500 truck. When I was looking up P/N for the radio, the 2500 had a different one than the 1500, they look the same, but not sure why the part numbers were different. Also Silverado and Sierra have different P/N because the silver trim piece is slightly different, tried swapping the two to see if they were interchangeable, and they work, but the silver is different (Silverado is more gloss and the Sierra is a flat brushed look), same with the steering wheel trim.
