I was wanting the MBRP T304 system, so I called MBRP yesterday and got a recorded message that they are not taking calls, and to contact them via the website.  I did that and got an instant response, but it was not at all what I wanted to hear:

ME: I am wanting to purchase T304 exhaust part number S5093304 for my 2021 2500HD. Are those in stock and available to ship? If not what is the lead time roughly? And would it be possible to swap out the chrome 4" ID 5" OD tip, for your black dual wall 4" ID 5" OD tip part T5053BLK? Thank you!

MBRP: Sorry, they are out of stock and it could be 6+ weeks at this point. Sorry, you cant swap tips.

Borla's own website says "coming soon" for our trucks, yet it is listed as an accessory on the official Chevy Accessory site.  What is the deal with that?  Has anyone successfully gotten a Borla direct from Chevy?  If so what was the lead time on that?

Any info fellas?  Or other options?  Thanks!

Yes I got the Borla from Chevy. It was at my dealer in 3 days- no shipping charges if sent to dealer. Sounds great with a tone between their touring and sport exhausts in my opinion.

I bought the Borla exhaust through GM accessories in January. It shipped next day and had it 3 days after purchase.

Thanks for the replies guys, sounds like the Borla is the way to go for sure and it's actually available.

Borla direct has not released the Sport version yet.  The Chevy one is a milder tone than the soon to be released sport version from Borla direct.  I'm waiting as the GM version is far too tone for my taste.

Not sure why guys don’t just go to an exhaust shop and get them to just put in a muffler and maybe tune up the tail pipe. Cheaper and just as good. The stock exhaust is already 3.5” and they last longer than even T306 in my experience.

I bought a magnaflow, had it installed and also had them install a 60 degree bend behind the last hanger and add a tip so it exited out the side. $450 CDN sounds and works great.

Hey L8T - that is not a bad idea at all, I hadn't considered it! Thanks for the input. That may be a thing I investigate with a couple of phone calls.

Did they weld your Magnaflow in, or use those big sealing band clamps?

I bought the GM Borla system because it doesn’t void any warranty, It bolted on and used the factory hangers, there was no welding needed and came with its own million mile warranty. I’ve done the exhaust shop thing more times than I’d like to admit and it seems like it never lasts more than a couple years if you’re lucky.

I've done this with both my 5.3 and my 6.2 trucks... I'll be doing this on my 6.6 as well.

The reason why you don't go muffler only is so you never have to do it again.  Borla guarantee is for life.  No changing out in the future, I did the muffler thing on my old one and frankly got tired of replacing every few years.  Since I keep my trucks until they die I don't want to swap out exhausts like the last truck.

Anybody have any videos with the sound of the Chevy Borla exhaust?  Getting tired of waiting on the sport exhaust but don't want it too mellow.  Can't find any examples on You Tube for the 6.6 factory one

Just buy a stainless muffler... I've never had a muffler swap rust out. You can buy the same exact muffler that is incorporated in most of these full systems... You're just paying a fraction of the cost.

I just ordered my aluminized steel MBRP over the weekend, all websites said 4 weeks out. Got a email yesterday  saying it shipped and expected  delivery is the 26th. Plus they had a promo going for 12%off. $385 to my door.

Nice - won't go that route because I plan on only replacing once, aluminized steel will rust, but that's a good price

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
