Engine auto shutoff solution Sierra 2500

This may be known, but myself and my dad looked for a while for a solution to the auto shutoff in our 2021 Sierra 2500HD because he takes his dog with him everywhere.  The solution for us is:

1: Put truck in Neutral

2: Activate parking brake

3: Get out and lock doors with fob 

 

That’s it.  Works until you run out of fuel.  I hope this helps someone.

Yet another reason why we need tuning options for these trucks. So we can change ****** like this.

The HD does not have auto start/stop while driving, which I think is what you are referring to.  The posters above are talking about the engine automatically shutting down something like 15 or 20 minutes after the truck is parked if it is left idling.  It's described in the owner's manual.
