Oil Extractor

My truck is a ‘16 Silverado 1500 5.3L LTZ.  I purchased an EWK oil extractor to make it easier to change oil on my various toys.  Tried changing the oil in my Silverado yesterday and couldn’t get the tube all the way into the dip stick tube to extract the oil.  It seemed like a spring preventing the tube making it all the way down.  How do I get this to function properly?

What I have found is that some have a restriction in the tube and only allow the dipstick to go all the way down.  Not much you can do other than regular drains from the drain plug.  I find that the Fumoto drain valve is the way to go.  Easy to use and no mess or wrenches to worry about other than getting the oil filter off.

go to lowes and find a smaller tube material from the plumbing dept. its usually a white poly hose for ice makers in the fridge,  then get a piece of rubber hose  to make the union connection from the extractor line to your custom adapter line

Why reinvent the wheel and risk getting your rubber coupler stuck in the tube?

 

are you just going to leave the filter? You’re under there anyways.

ha ha, you aint no mechanic .. dont put the coupler in the oil tube...lol
