So far I’ve compounded the fender and the door. Pulled the “1500” emblem off for now since the old ones are cracked. These are lying around everywhere at work. Perks of being the parts manager at a Chevy dealer. We have so much old crap I can buy for cheap.

Buffing is wearing me out. But I’m determined. My bottom half of my lights came in, new from GM. Just waiting on the top ones too. I went ahead and pulled the grill to get it ready for paint. I like black trucks with a little bit of chrome. I’ll probably just paint the faded black parts back to black and leave the rest chrome.

My 2002 was starting to go bad with the black paint like yours but not as bad.  Only a matter of time before it took over the whole topside of the truck.

Looking great!   What are your plans for maintenance?  That is low mileage for a 99.  I take it you are going to do a full change out of fluids, or did the previous owner keep good records and did that as well?

So I actually have all the records of maintenance, since I work at the dealership that he bought it from and went there every 4K Miles on the truck. Everything’s been done to maintain truck, just not the paint lol. Cant beat that!

And just for fun here’s some pictures of my last project. I am NOT modifying this current truck like the last one. But it will get a lot of restoration! The old ford was a 1987 f250 4x4 4 speed stick shift. One owner, bad paint lol. So I did a dually conversion, flatbed, small lift, and a front end swap. Had it for six years and was a GOOD truck. But I need a back seat

Save those lamps. Sand them back to perfect then clear lacquer them. 😉
