Hi Guys,

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra with a 2.5" front leveling kit. What I want to do is put on 33" tires. I also want to get new wheels. I am thinking of a 17" or 18" wheel. The main thing is I do not want my tires to rub. If I get a 17" x 9 or 18" x 9 wheel do I need to worry about an offset? I went to the desert and got a flat tire, so I want to get a bigger sidewall. Any help would be great.  what wheels or tires would you get. thanks, doug

What size are your stock wheels?
If they are 18s or better, 33s will work fine with a 2.5" level.
Not sure if 17s are good as I have 18s and had 33s on a 2" level with no issues.
I went with a 3" level and a 1.5" body lift (with a rear 1" block lift and 1.5" spring lift) and run 35s comfortably.

with Fox Shocks providing a 2" level, on my 2018 I put on 18x9 +1 wheels and used both 275/70 (33x 10.8, and 295/65 (33x 11.6) tires. Some very uncommon rubbing in certain situations, and had to pin back wheel liner, but was able to keep mud flaps (too many gravel roads not too). W/o mud flaps, I don't think they would rub at all.

I am not sure if stock offset would have worked. Square wheel wells are finicky. But +1 looks better to me.

I have Rough Country 2.5" front/1" rear kit. Wheels are 18" 2020 GMC AT4 reproductions. Tires are 275/70/18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2. I have no rub but I wouldn't stick my hand in there and let anyone cut the wheel to full lock.

Eibach 2.5” Pro Truck lift, 2” rear blocks replaced factory 1.25” blocks, 285/65/18 on 18x9 with +12 offset. No rubbing at all even when it had 1.75” level before Eibachs.

I'm currently running Falken Wildpeak AT3s 305/55/20 which measure out to 33" and the only rubbing I have is at full turn. Other than that, no issues and they ride smooth, no road noise.
