Silverado Custom USB upgrade question

Has anybody done this mod to their custom or CTB?

Guy in the video replaced the factory dash usb block with the 13525431 unit. Description says it added usb-c and has access to files stored on the SD card. I pulled mine out and the plugs are the same. Would like to hear some success stories before I pull the trigger. Thanks.

I have done it, just plug and play. FWIW, he installed his upside down in the video

Do both the usb outlets work with CarPlay? How do you access files on the SD card?

Yes.

 

Files on the SD card are music files so it will come up on the source screen  for music files

For anyone that has done this, did they notice if their phone no longer was charging properly?  When I'm using my Pixel 4 w/Android Auto on USB C, it only "maintains" the battery charge - it is no longer charging.  Anyone else notice this?

Definitely not an issue I face with my iPhone
