So, I have a 2021 RST 5.3/8spd, Crew Cab, Short Bed, 22" Wheels. I noticed since I turned about 8,000 miles, my mpg's jumped up about 3 on average. I went from 17mpg to 20mpg average on the same daily commute. Has anybody else experience this or am I crazy?

I have the same engine & trans combo in my 2019, and just hit 8k miles myself. No big change in mpg yet, and my driving habits and commute are relatively consistent. Seems some other variable must have changed, that's quite an improvement. Certainly hope my truck does the same, but not counting on it (LOL)

18%! Several possibilities.

1.) It is a learning computer. Some inhibit certain functions for a predetermined period of time or miles.

2.) Big step in break in

3.) Traffic pattern change

4.) You've changed your habits. Gotten comfortable with the truck, route. etc.

5.) Weather changes....bigger deal that some think. ECU responds to weather in a silly way.

Winter/summer fuel blends can make a difference too.

But I don't think that alone would change pickup mileage by 3.

Its all your right foot, nothing else will make that big of a difference.
