floor liner locks

I bought a set of GM floor liners to replace the factory carpeted floor mats for my GMC Sierra. I just flopped the new liner in the driver side and it appears the locking pins in the carpet don't align with the locks in the floor liner. They appear to be about 1" forward. I didn't try to force the liner forward since the molded liner appears to be in position. Anybody else have to move the pins when installing the GM floor liners?

Before moving pins, I'd move the liner to the locks and snap it down to see how it looks.

Won't take long to try.

That mat lays pretty natural at about a hole width off. I forced it forward to get it to lock. It's not as bad as I thought so I am going to try it at this position. I really don't want to move the locks. Even more aggravating were the rear mats. The mats are for either a crew or double cab. Neither model escapes having to cut the length. You would think you could buy a liner from GM that fits without having to jack around or trim to install. The IKEA type instructions indicate cutting with scissors. Yea right, I had to use my tin snips to cut.

Maybe take them back next time and see if they have another set to compare, and then exchange if other set fits better? Maybe you just have a poorly made set?

Fwiw, rear matts on mine extend under the underseat storage bin.

The were installed before delivery --- and I've not been curious enough to remove the storage bin and determine how far they go. It's at least as far as I can get my fingers to slide under...

I don't know who made yours, but my Weathertech mats fit like a glove front and back. The back set took a day or so to settle down on the edges and are fine now. No cutting or trimming was required. They do not go beneath the rear seat storage.

How did you get one that don’t go under your underseat storage? I bought weather tech and had to stuff the rears under the storage and they don’t fit all that great on the sides. Crew cab for reference

Weathertech actually makes two models for the Sierra Crew Cab. One with the back seat storage and one without it. The picture shows what I installed.
