CamGTP Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Check the harness going to both knock sensors. Make sure they are both getting power.
Skylor Posted September 13, 2021 Author Posted September 13, 2021 Ok do you think it can be because of the O2 sensors
Mawz Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 No, it's a knock sensor warning. Check them.
Skylor Posted September 13, 2021 Author Posted September 13, 2021 Ok thanks If it’s not the knocks sensor what else could it be
shakenfake Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 Then you have actual knock lol But it is a knock sensor. Replace them and the wire harness.
Skylor Posted September 20, 2021 Author Posted September 20, 2021 I replace both knock sensors and I’m still having a Knock control system error
Mawz Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 20 hours ago, Skylor said: I replace both knock sensors and I’m still having a Knock control system error Then you likely have an issue with the harness, not the sensors. 1
shakenfake Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Yeah you are going to need to pull the intake off and replace the wires. SAYING THAT I recently had this issue. Replaced the knock sensor and the harness tested out good. Knock kept coming back. It turned out to be a motor mount or something slapping the block while driving because knock would show up whenever I hit a bump but it would never show up when driving around flat. 1
Skylor Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 I have longtube headers and one of the headers is against the frame
Skylor Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 I have longtube headers and one of the headers is against the frame that’s can cause the knock control system error
shakenfake Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Well I bet that might be what it is. Did you get your truck tuned for the headers? If not then you need to. Tuners can lower your knock sensitivity because of noisy headers and valvetrains. Could help but I would say fix your wiring harness first.
Skylor Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 I had it tuned after I tuned it that’s when the knock control system error started popping up
shakenfake Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 How about run a tank of premium through and see what happens. Now you got me thinking someone got the fueling tables wrong
Skylor Posted September 22, 2021 Author Posted September 22, 2021 So do you think he tuned it to run on premium
