2019 Trail Boss Custom with 93K miles.  Had the sluggish feeling and whining sound at low RPM's.  Took it to the dealership (Rick Hendrick in Richmond, VA) and the torque converter is done and sent metal into the entire transmission.  Was told I need a whole new transmission for $6k.  Would this be covered under the class action lawsuit currently against Chevy?

I highly doubt it since if it's the 4.3 or 5.3 it's going to be the 6 speed trans and not the 8 speed the class action is about. If it's a 6.2 then it's the 10 speed and I'm not aware of any lawsuits against it. I personally love my 6.2/10 speed combo!

If you can do the labor yourself, I'd just buy a new transmission and torque converter and install it yourself. You'll save a ton of money.

Or have it rebuilt at a local transmission shop for less.

No.  Time to pony up $$$$.

None of the class actions suits for the transmission problems in these trucks have gotten any results. That I know of. Unfortunately this is going to have to be paid by you.

Take it to a well respected and highly trained transmission shop. Get it beefed up for half the price.  When I had my 2006 SS trailblazer the "STEALERSHIP" wanted $5k to rebuild the d@mn 4 speed transmission in that thing. I took it to well known transmission guy and he beefed it up, shifted firmer, and could handle over 600HP for $2700!   Unreal how much better the whole vehicle performed compared to the way it performed before it went out.

Even if those panned out, the owners typically get nothing out of them. Class actions lawsuits only benefits the lawyers and the court systems as they take their share off the top and the rest is divided among millions of owners.

GM factory fill Dexron ATF saved another transmission from the graveyard. (sarcasm)
