Hey guys I have a couple questions for you. I am looking to run 38’s on a 2022 3500. I’d like to use a 3/2 level kit, not a full on suspension lift. I’d also like to use the stock high country wheels if possible to keep it looking at least fairly stock.

I realize it will be a little bit of trimming necessary and most likely a mudflap delete.

1. Do you think that wheel spacers will be necessary?

2. I would probably want to do a regear to try and maintain the factory final gearing. What ratio differentials would I have to get to get back to stock?

You can't tune your truck, so there is nothing you can do about the gear ratios.

2022's are currently not supported and it costs a ton a money to tune a newer L5P truck. Also the gas trucks aren't supported either.

You can 100% tune your truck. It’s not cheap but it can be done, $1000 to unlock the ECM. That said this discussion is more about what I need to do wheels and suspension wise, not performance.

I am curious, you talking diesel or gas tuning ? From what I gather the gas is encrypted just like the C8 vette, other wise I'm very interested in adding a TVS 2650 blower / big injectors / long tubes on my 6.6 L8t. But am under the current thought ove piggy backing a stand alone set up to run it. Any insight????

The gassers are not tunable using the stock PCM, not accounting for any other piggy back stuff. The Diesel's per HP Tuners aren't supported on the website, but maybe they are and it's not updated. My point about the tuning was that you need that for changing gear ratio's and tire sizes to correct the shifting and speedo.

Some guys are running 37x12.50x20's on stock rims with a 3/2 style kit and minimal trimming. What size of 38's are you planning to run, specifically? Wide (13" plus) tires on stock rims can be tricky. Without wheel spacers, you'll run into clearance issues on the UCA and frame (when turning). Adding spacers will fix those problems, but put the tires closer to the fender liners and mud flaps (and maybe the bumper) when turning. I don't have as much experience with the new style HD's, but that's how it worked with the previous generation.

For those of you who are looking for the same answers. It looks like the front axles on our trucks are sealed. There is no re-gearing option for our trucks for four-wheel-drive trucks. Only 2 Wheel Dr.
