Can't I just get some Sylvania LED bulbs at O'Reillys??

I  used Sylvania (zero) Super Bright led - Rev, lights , lic. lights & Cargo Lights . my truck is a 2019 . NO Problem with them

I used Lasfit LED's in both of those locations. They can be ordered directly from Lasfit or bought on E-bay.

They are bright enough that I took the aftermarket LED lights that I had mounted under the bumper off and still have plenty of light to back up in complete darkness. The truck looks better without the aftermarket lights under the bumper too !

Just changing license plate bulbs to LED will throw a code in the BCM and show up as attention needed on your monthly Onstar report.

Two months, no codes, including on my March OnStar Diagnostics Report received Thursday 3/3/22.

I back 300 feet down my driveway every night so they have had every chance to throw codes and have not.

Lasfit T10 license plate light bulbs.

Lasfit 912 back up bulbs.

Both listed as Canbus error free on the website.

FALSE! I have cheapo 194(aka T10) LED bulbs I bought in bulk off ebay. NO codes, NO Onstar messages. My reverse lights are just generic LED's from ebay as well.

So let me clarify some.  At least on my '16 Sierra it did.  I never had issues with my LED reverse bulbs but did with the license plate bulbs. Nothing showed on the dash, but my monthly Onstar report had one exclamation. Every month it said license plate bulbs need attention. It never bothered me and paid it no mind.  When I brought it in for a service bulletin, the tech showed me a ****** ton codes on the license plate bulbs. I wouldn't have thought.  The BCM picks it up the error as not having enough resistance and reads it as the bulbs are burnt. I guess it's the same as those who change turn signals to LED and get hyper flashing.  It acts like a bulb is burnt. Canbus free would correct it or inline resistors would be the solution for turns.  Maybe something has changed on the T1 IDK.

Glad I could entertain you.

The errors will show up when the codes are pulled by the dealerships or someone with a higher level scan tool.  You won't get a message in the truck.

Never saw it on my OnStar reports when I was getting them.

So I got the Sylvania LED bulbs. They work just fine.

Weird thing is as i plugged in each one at first it didn't come on. Then I unplugged it and turned bulb opposite and it came on.
