I placed an order on 6/14 for a '22 Silverado LTZ w/ 3.0. Now I'm worried about what I am actually going to get.

Will I get what I ordered? Will it come with the center console shifter? For the 3.0 is it just a RPO code designation and some emissions stuff? Is it yet known what these new emissions and fuel economy changes are?

I got in writing what the price will be out-the-door for the truck I ordered but worried about a price increase with the new MY.

Does anybody know if there are any cosmetic changes (interior and/or exterior) with the 23MY?

I really doubt you’ll be getting a 2022. That order will never get accepted. The LM2 has been on constraint (not available to order) for a few weeks now. I’m surprised your dealer even “ordered” it.

It will likely be pushed to a 2023 with the new LZ0. NOTHING has been released from GM on this engine other than it’s a turbocharged 3.0 I6 diesel. This is IT, everything you read on the internet today is speculation. Wait for GM to release information about the engine before you worry about what extra emissions stuff it may have.

Nothing will change with the interior and exterior aside from some color changes.

Yes it will have a console shifter.

There will likely be a MY price increase. Talk to your dealer about whether or not you’ll have to pay it.

I do have in writing from my dealer what the out the door price was when I ordered. I haven't heard anything from my dealer in a few weeks so I'm going to call tomorrow and see what is up.

I know everything is speculation on what the LZ0 will be, but I really hope it doesn't have DFM/AFM. We all know that's one of the worst things GM has ever put in a motor.

I’m not sure how pricing will work if the order is converted to a 23. There will undoubtably be a base price increase. Also, who knows what the price for LZ0 will be. For all we know it’s way more than LM2 and if that’s the case you can’t expect the dealer to honor the price for an LM2 if that’s not what you’re getting.

I just ordered a 2022 with the 3.0 LM2 order went in on 6/30 and was accepted because the dealer had allocation available. So, anything is possible.

Any update on your order status? I'm guessing you got an order number too? Have you checked with GM to see what event code your truck is at?

2022s are available again it seems with the LM2.  It was on constraint almost a month but its back on for the rest of the MY.  So anyone that's at a dealer with allocation and the ability to order a diesel should get a 2022 if they ordered.

2023 starts production 8/29.

I ordered my 22MY mid-June and order was picked up and assigned an order number late June. Current build date is 8/1 but I need to contact GM again to see if they have an update. It was at 3400 about two weeks ago.

I just got notification and confirmed twice that my order was just built two or three days ago. It's currently at 3800 but no ETA. I'm waiting to find out which plant it was built in.

Now the shipping/delivery waiting game begins.

I was going to get the 6.2L on my 1500 LTZ order, but changed to the 3.0L Diesel after some long research.  This article has me feeling even better about the diesel, but not too happy that this won't be available until "late 2022", whatever that means specifically.

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
