I bought my 2021 Silverado 1500 in December of 2020. I've put on about 19,000 miles and had a 6 inch lift installed with 35" tires. Recently, I've had a slight squeaking noise coming from the front brakes that has continued to worsen. When it first occurred, I took it to the dealership and they said nothing was wrong, and brakes seemed fine. The noise continued on for a week after that, continuing to get louder.

It usually is very intermittent, stopping after the truck has been sitting and then coming back after a little bit of driving. I took it to a local shop around here that would give me a little more detail of what's going on and they told me that the front brakes, because chevy has decided to put larger, 4 piston calipers on the front, that they are making the noise because of the extra weight added with the lift and tires.

In the end, he basically told me they're ultimately no alternative to getting rid of the noise, and honestly, it's quite frustrating because it gets seriously loud and embarrassing almost.

i was curious if anyone had the same issue? Found any sort of fix for it?

At ~ 8000 ish miles and dust increasing here on our unimproved roads I am hearing a mid frequency sound from brakes at slow speed.  We started running the  2022 trail boss through a drive-thru car wash nearly weekly and I suspect that residual detergent is laying on brake pads in rear brakes but  I can't hear well enough to directionally ID the sound.

I carry about 720 lbs of sand tubes in bed for winter ops and that seems to be at play too. Brake system looks good visually.

I don't have an answer for your issue but sounds like caliper or slider sticking on front brakes for you. Finding out why will be key to success in your case.

Sometimes brakes just squeal. I had an old German engineer tell me once ,  Insert German Ascent, "that is how you know they are working".

Auto manufactures, and suppliers spend millions every year testing brakes, to this day the biggest problem with foundation brakes is NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness).  I doubt the added wheel weight is causing the issues,  but it could be contributing i suppose. The Squealing your are hearing is most likely the pads vibrating at a high frequency.

The front calipers on the new trucks are fixed 4 piston calipers, they don't slide, the piston seal roll back creates the needed running clearance.  You could try a different brake pad compound that will probably help, but its a shot in the dark as to what brand or marketing on the box. Brake friction material compounds are a black art and deferentially not a one size fits all formula. there are always trade offs, Noise, Dust, Wear, Pedal Feel, etc.... Oh and there is absolutely no regulations on aftermarket brake pads.

No real answer other that from a stopping standpoint I'm sure everything is just fine.

A Brake Engineer.
