High Beam Fix

When I was getting my first oil change (free) at the dealer I mentioned the high beam indicator being really bright and he said there was a fix for it. Well the did fix it but it seems like to me the low beams are not as bright as they used to be.

Is it my imagination or are the two related?

They are unrelated. There isn't anyway to dim or brighten the headlamps without actually changing the bulb size.

Nice having the high beam indicator dimmed though isn't it!

The TSB for the bright light indicator light should only affect the dash bulb.

The only thing that could possibly have happened is that the dealer may have realigned your headlights....

Is it even possible to align the headlights on the newer trucks? I don't believe there is a way to.

It is amazingly simple to align the lights. There are two adjustments, one for horizontal, one for vertical. Both adjusters are located at the top by the splash shield, just under the hood's front.

Ok thanks for re-assuring me it was just my imagination and not really dimmer. I still need to change them to the Silverstars sometime.

The fix is definitely much nicer. It still is plenty bright but not like a flare that it used to be.

I will have to check that out. Since lifting the front via torsion bar adjustment and 265 tires, I get flashed quite a bit at night. I figured since the headlights just popped out to replace the bulbs that there was no way to adjust them, but really didn't look into it much either.

The indicator on the dash is way too bright for my liking & I had seen the TSB here before they were removed.I took it into the dealer & they can't do the TSB on my '04 because the TSB was for '03 models.

So I'mgoing to contact GM & complain about the brightness. You wouldhyave thought if '03 owners were complaining,they would have dimmed the dash indicator. If any one else w/ an '04 doesn't like the brightness ofthe high beam, dash indicator,contact GM& letthemknow a fix was done for '03sbut nothing for '04s.

I called and complained too about the high beam indicator on my 2004 being too bright. Haven't heard anything back yet! I guess the 2003's were even brighter than mine. Yikes!
