Tom73 Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 Where does the feed for things like the speed limit display or the clock come from? Is it through the onboard Wi-Fi , OnStar, or some other source?
jaxcam02 Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 It's in the preprogrammed navigation software for pre-refrshed. 2022 refresh it's in the Google maps and only will show with an onstar data subscription
Tom73 Posted August 14, 2022 Author Posted August 14, 2022 It is a 22 Limited. Have never activated the navigation as I use Apple Car Play with Apple Maps.

If you have it showing in the dash then you navigation is working in the background. Even if you don't use it. It's from the data stored in the truck, not constant data over air and will not be updated without getting the navigation update from the dealer. In my 17 Camaro I noticed the speed indicator was quite outdated on newer roads.
redwngr Posted August 14, 2022 Posted August 14, 2022 And fwiw, like every other other navigation database, there are places where the speed limit signs are different than the info the truck displays from the database.

It is on-line as it updates itself when I cross time zones.
