What's up guys and gals. Quick question after way over-analyzing my choice for tonneau drain location. I went for the top two rubber grommets in the front corners of the bed. I terminated the drains about 4 inches into bedside by pushing them through the hole with the grommet removed. My question is: are the internals of the bedside sufficiently protected from regular water exposure? The water will drain to the outside, but not before traveling down the bedside. Reference pic I found on Google attached.

That is where I have mine going as well.  I shined a flashlight down into the rear channels, and they seem to be coated.  2 years with it that way so far, but I haven't inspected it since I did it.

I have no reservations running it down there on mine. Your tonneau rails are aluminum so you don't have to worry about the water carrying iron rich water down there.

Many of the quad folds like BakFlip have you run the hoses in that hole so yes, acceptable point.
