My 2015 Silverado 4x4 WT does not have day time running lights (drl) or auto lights that come on at night. You have to turn the headlamp knob to right to the on position to actually turn the headlights on at night time. I’ve tried turning switch to left over and over to try to turn on auto lights but no luck. This truck used to be a Texas game warden truck if that has to do with it. I don’t know if the feature can be back to normal with bcm programming or an actual wire that goes to headlight or the switch or even the sensor on the dash. I don’t want to forget to turn on the headlights one night and be pulled over. If there is a discussion already over this can you reply with the link please. Thank you.

Have you checked to see if the relay or fuse for the daytime running lamps is good? Also, have you plugged a scan tool in to see if there are any codes popping up for this issue?

I’ve heard there are no fuses or relays for the daytime running lights. I also looked at manual and I see no drl fuse. I’ve tried the code scanner, nothing shows up.

I see. I know older GM vehicles did and if the fuse or relay blew, it would cause the service vehicle soon light to come on. I dealt with it on a 2003 Malibu once so that is why I suggested it.

I just looked hard in the manual and I found that trucks that came with the Special Equipment Option RPO code: 9G8. Had the drl and automatic light on manual. I just have to go to dealer and get it changed back to normal. Thanks for all of y’all’s help!

I’ve got the same truck and the exact same issue. Was the dealer able to fix it?  How much did they charge?

I would guess around $150, they would probably charge you for an hour of labor. If its an ex Texas gamewarden truck like the other guys, post some pictures!

Although not same vehicle, I had a US model 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. It didn't have DRL activated. I found out that Canadian models did have it. I took mine to dealer to see if it could be activated and he said no. After doing some research, I found that dealers could do it. What they had to do was hook it up to computer and change programming from a US model to a Canadian model. That turned my DRL's on. It didn't affect anything else. Speedometer and odometer were still using mph and not kph. So it's possible that programming could be the answer. It cost a few bucks but wasnt expensive.
