I’m looking to find a used bed to fit this 2012 Silverado 1500 WT. I’m looking for a short 6.5 bed that would fit. Any help would be appreciated.

How do you plan on putting a short bed on a long bed truck?

According to specs it will take a 8ft or 6’7ft. I’m looking to put a 6’7ft bed on it which is considered short

It can't take both. The frame and wheel base is shorter on a "short" bed truck.

That's not how it works.  The frame of the truck corresponds to the length as either one or the other, not both.  The extra length is between the cab and rear axle as seen on your truck (long bed) and the one CamGTP posted (short bed).  You will need a long bed for your truck.

Makes sense. Thank you both for explaining. I got this at an auction and wanting to remove the refrigeration/heating box. I believe I can find a 8ft a lot easier.
