Hey all,

I am listening to Sirius XM and I make or receive a call.  After I hang up I have no radio and when I go to the media the source is set to Apple.Carplay or something like that.  I have to manually switch the dropdown to go to Sirius to listen to what I was using previously.  I don't know if there is some setting - but I obviously want to be able to make and receive calls with the bluetooth / in car system but it should go back to where it was?!  Does anyone else notice this problem? Thanks!

I have the same problem. If I'm listening to the radio or Sirius, and I receive a text, it switches to Source:Carplay and Apple Music to whatever I happened to be listening to previously on the phone. I also have the same problem as you, heffneil, after a call.

Also, every time i get in the truck, the radio says 'Loading...." forever until I hit the up or down channel button behind the steering wheel and only then will it start playing.

My dealer has no idea, GM customer service has no idea, and OnStar has no idea.

same here. All settings change each shutdown. Argh!!! Then the advertisements ...buy google, buy a subscription...then another prompt to " hey, watch the road"

I believe you need to have your software version updated I had mine done yesterday tons of bug fixes!

Although I wasn't having this issue I believe it was on the list of things it fixed. I had mine updated at the dealer because I was not getting over the air updates 🤷 current version is 167.4.2

The Google thing was driving me nuts. I opted not to continue with the outrageous data plan, as I have everything on my phone. Now, every time i get in the car, I get: You do not have Google. Would you like Google? Are you sure you don't want Google? Have you checked with your wife to see if she wants Google......

I finally figured out to go to settings>Apps and disabled everything Google. Then no radio, no Sirius, etc.

I think I turned Google keyboard back on. Seems to not bug me now.

One other thing, HUD speeds signs are just a white box now that I don't have a data plan. You can turn it off in the dashboard settings but it comes back after every restart.

Hopefully the above update will fix that. I'll try. Thanks for the heads up.

I have this too, drives me crazy. You can use the right switch on the front of the steering wheel to change the source in the DIC. It’s much easier and quicker than using the main screen

i don't have a source button on my steering wheel unless I've really gotten old and missed it?

What year and trim level?

2023 denali.  These model years and features are all screwy. My salesman said oh they removed the wireless charger, I put my phone down and it worked and he said OH wow! The back door handles don't have unlock buttons even though my buddies 2019 has them? Seems strange but I guess this is the post pandemic age.

Your source buttons are the right hand DIC D-Pad buttons. Scroll over to media in the DIC and you can adjust your source there

Most GM's will unlock the door if the door handle us pulled twice.

Not sure if the refresh does that, but it's been a GM thing for decades.

If locked

- first pull unlocks

- 2nd pull opens

    • I get the same results with pictures. Then I figure it out. Then I forget. Screw it.
    • I guess I'm the only one on this forum who can't get effing pics to load here! Do you have to resize them to post, or am I just blocked from uploads?   I have the same luck with automotive electronics ... but this is the ONLY site on the net that I have this problem!   I'd post pics of what I'm working on ... but I CAN'T! 🤬       Just fabbed up the kickdown cable (had to extend the cable mount WAAAY out from the throttle shaft to get a full pull), and parts arrived for the fuel lines on the 940 carb conversion project. Should be able to drive this thing by the end of the day. If not for work, I'd have had this thing done SIX weeks ago.   Got the jetting sorted out last week. Had a real bad tip-in bog that I couldn't seem to correct. Friggin float height was over 11mm too HIGH! eBay purchase, so no wonder everything is screwed up right out of the box! I ended up with a larger dual-squirt accelerator pump jet anyway instead of the single. Also moved the 70 primary idle jet (4 sizes too big out of the box) to the secondary idle circuit, and installed a 57 in the primary. Runs great on the fuel bottle!    Still using the computer for ignition. Going to drive it first and see if I want to go through the project of installing an intermediate shaft with a distributor drive gear, so I can install a block-mounted distributor and run points, 100% computer free. I should do that anyway just from a simplicity / reliability / tunability standpoint. The electronics left me stranded last year a couple times! I can't tweak the timing to my liking right now because of the computer. Tried twisting the cam-driven distributor already ... and the damned thing just reverts back to where it was! That's infuriating. But if it runs well enough I might save that for next season.   Just driving it in and out of the shop to work on other projects, it feels 1,000% more responsive with the carburetor. Also fires MUCH faster when cranking. Can't wait to drive it and see if I got more than 114 ponies, lolol.
    • Triumph makes me think of cars not bikes. Especially with model names like the TR7, that was a Triumph car model too. Peak TR for me was the TR250. You could retain the post-war roadster looks, with an optional surrey hard top, but with an inline 6 engine instead of the TR4's anemic 4-cylinder, but still have a 4 speed, optional overdrive.   I know almost nothing about Triumph bikes, except that they exist. Good looking bikes though.   I don't know if I could just have one vehicle. The Silverado does it all except for fitting anywhere. But it leaves a void in real driving enjoyment, unless driving an extremely large sofa is your thing.   What did I do to my 'other' (muslce car - which one!?) vehicle lately. I took my '23 SS for a drive. It's only got 1600 miles. I keep reminding myself I shouldn't be so precious about this car. It likes to be driven. Needs to be driven. Life is short and if I don't enjoy it, someone else will. The other half calls it "the garage ornament".
    • Hey everyone, Thought we’d share our 40" SLIM Light Bar setup for the 2022+ Chevrolet Silverado 1500 for anyone looking at behind-the-grille lighting options.   The 40" bar sits behind the lower factory grille, so it stays pretty well hidden when it’s off. The mounting position is also adjustable, which helps with getting the bar positioned properly depending on the grille.   A few details on the setup:   40" SLIM LED light bar Fits 2022–2026 Silverado 1500 Spot + flood beam pattern White, amber, or white with amber DRL backglow Adjustable mounting position No cutting or drilling required Doesn't interfere with the active grille shutters Vehicle-specific mounting brackets       It’s a straightforward option for anyone who wants the coverage of a 40" bar but prefers to keep the front of the truck relatively stock-looking. Curious what the Silverado owners here prefer — hidden behind-the-grille lighting or an exposed bumper-mounted setup?
    • Yes. Absolutely. That doesn't mean I don't like and enjoy a variety of machines. I went for a time with no other vehicle than a 1976 Triumph TR7-V Tiger. Loved that bike and rode it 365 in any and all weather. I did not feel deprived of anything.
