Good evening all ... I have been a Chevy truck owner in the past and bought a '23 1500 High Country today. While the salesperson was showing me the doodads, I asked if it had auto sensing wipers to which he replied no.

After getting home, I went through the "Setting" menu and found the "Rain Sensing Wipers" option had a green check mark; GREAT!!! Rain storm comes through while I'm driving home from running an errand but no wipers until I activate them on the stalk.

Am I missing something? Did I not flick a doodad the salesperson didin't know about?

Any and all tips, suggestions and comments appreciated.

I have a 23 HC also. They only work if you have it set to intermittent. Any mark between off and low. As soon as the glass gets wet they come on as needed.

I'm a Grandpa too.

BTW them salesmen don't know much about these trucks. You'll get all the info you need here.

If you leave it set in the intermittent position the wipers will give a sweep every time you start it.

I don't like the dry glass sweep myself, so I leave them in the off position until needed.

I also shut it off when not in use.

Rains sense doesn't eliminate need to operate wipers, but definitely reduces the amount of fussing with the wiper settings when rain is variable.

I've shut mine off for the same reason as @repairman54. I'll turn them on once it starts raining and then let them do their thing. Of course, I forget to turn them off until they wipe on my next restart.

Thats funny, mine don't and I leave them on 100% of the time, first notch up on intermittent. Now if its parked outside overnight and has morning dew on the windowshield then it will.

Thank you ... no rain forecast for the next week but will set them to intermittent.

I believe if you have the rain sensing wipers enabled in your settings, you can adjust the sensitivity with the intermittent setting.  I.E. if you just have it turned on to the first mark, the wipers will only sweep when there's lots of water on the windshield.  The higher you place the intermittent setting, the less water it takes to activate the wipers.  If you have it set to the highest intermittent mark, it will sweep anytime there's just a little rain on the windshield.  It doesn't work perfectly IMO though - I'm always messing with it because it won't sweep as often as I want, so I just leave them disabled and run them the old-fashioned way.
