What's the word on lead time for ordering a 2500? Ill be ready to trade my truck in within 6 months or so. If its a 6 week wait Ill hold off a bit. If its 6 months + ill start the process.

Id love to buy off the lot but I dont want a work truck and I dont want a Denali/AT4 and thats all that seems to wind up on the lots around here. Hoping interest rates creep back down a little....if they're over 6% when the truck comes In ill just drive my paid for rig into the ground lol

A lot can and will change in 6 months. Currently deliveries are running about 90 days BUT thats if your dealer actually has an allocation and is honest with you about that. Some dealers will take your money even though they dont have allocation and then sandbag you on the order. There may also be some constraints on certain options so you will need a dealer that will honestly communicate those issues. The supply chain is still struggling.

Having said all that if the UAW strikes then production will be severely curtailed and ALL bets are off.

From what I'm reading and what I've heard the UAW is probably going on strike in about 2 weeks. I  was going to order a 3500 however with the impending strike I went out this last weekend and found something very similar locally to what I wanted and I bought it because it's going to be a while before orders are taken and fulfilled because of the backlog caused by the strike. My opinion hopefully it's wrong but that's the reasoning behind my buying one this last weekend.

Im sort of hoping to trip over a 6spd truck getting traded for a 10spd truck...but Im too picky lol.

Want a 6.6 gas SLE 2500, double cab, std bed, white or titanium rush.

Double cabs are unicorns these days it seems.  Guy next to me at a campsite in NM a couple weeks ago had a 2024 SLE double cab 6.6 gasser.  I was shocked.

You're both very correct. It's nuts.

There's a double cab in the right color at my preferred dealer actually but it has 4k worth of stuff on it I dont want. That plus interest rates has me turned off. Id be over paying twice. Im sure ill end up having to order to get my exact truck. Just trying to time it right

Ordered 7/10, dealer already had an available allocation and there were no applicable constraints.

TPW was supposed to be this week (8/28), but friends at GM looked into our order and Oshawa is running about a month behind those projected targets. (Supposedly Flint too, though not by as much right now)

we were lucky enough to have friends who could move up the build to last week, but we ended up finding something on the lot we liked slightly better anyways and went that route. Even with that move it didn’t get built last week due to some delays again.

All that to say even with an allocation, supply chain issues still creep up here and there, so with a pending strike it’s probably going to be a decent wait.

GM has 1.9% for 60/m

Chevy has 3.9% for 60/m

They have actually had it for awhile.....I took 3.9% back in April on a 2500 HD

I couldnt touch that rate from either of my CU's

Seen a few dbl cabs on west coast but idk where you are...they arent that rare out here.....

I'd be curious who he had to kiss to get it.

I've had a ltz double cab gasser on order since the first week of Feb.

Finally got an allocation in mid June. But still don't have a build date.

With the insane list of demands the UAW has out there, a strike is pretty much guaranteed.

So, I figure the chance of seeing the truck this year is slim.

From local dealer had it but only thru August  which is over..... maybe just a promo they were doing

Yeah I see 3.9 on 23 GMC....4.49 on denal/at4....

I dont know how they do it but I was able to get 2.49% on a 22 2500 model when the offer was for 1500s only on website.....they didn't want me using my bank I guess which was 3%

Some dealers would advertise different finance offers than others

My Bad man! Your right though I dont see it for 24s thru GM website...

Only Chevy is for 24s....September offers are coming though

    • Still looks like a rivet to me in the pics, I don't see a nut and none of the pics show the head of the screw. But if you says so.....
    • Thanks for all the help so far!   I did try right from 2026 right down to 2021, and only from 2023 down lets me select the option for tire psi change, but I get the vehicle not supported error!   I'll definitely try it under Chevrolet after work today, and I'll get the sensor number from gm for my truck tire sensors. And I'll let you know if it works for me under Chevrolet!   And if that doesn't work, I'm going to guess that what @Atlas said about maybe I have a different body control module could be true!
    • From where I'm sitting this sounds like a compatibility problem. I'm assuming the 2007 was a 900-series truck, and not an 800-series (they were sold side-by-side in dealerships that model year), since it starts and runs.   This is why I HATE post-2006 vehicles. Everything becomes a huge problem when you try to keep the thing running for longer than the manufacturer has designed it to.    I can't remember when Global-A architecture started - either '10 or '11. For your sake, you had better hope it's '11, or you're going to be spending some BIG money to correct this cluster-eff. That's something you need to find out before doing anything else. You may have several computers bricked ... but the fact that it runs tells me you MIGHT be ok here.     EDIT: Just did a quick refresher. You're screwed. This is Global-A. The 2 systems are NOT compatible in the slightest. Once you get the correct engine in there that IS compatible, you're going to need to see how many computers are locked. Absolute NIGHTMARE to straighten out, too. Your buddy might be better off cutting his losses and finding something else.   Welcome to post-2006 vehicle electronics. This is why I quit the industry, and drive nothing built after 1994. This stuff takes all the fun out of wrenching!

    • True, hard to say what differences there may or may not be between Chev and GM as well as a production year or mid year part change either.    I just found it odd that under the Sierra choice on the Autel that many of the last few years of production year did not include the choice of changing the tire pressure but if that is an Autel thing or a GM thing as to why the choices were not there. Knowing what tpms sensors are on the truck should give some guidance into which choices on the tool even make sense to try as I wouldn't give up just yet with the tool but I guess he will see what if anything he comes up with if he finds out a bit more info and tries a few more things on the Autel.
