The noises my truck makes only happens when I turn sharp

I have installed a few sets of front struts on these models now and I feel as stated above that checking ALL of the suspension components are torqued to the proper spec would be an easy and inexpensive place to start. Please keep us updated on what you find.

With those 5100s, did it have you reinstall the bottom bolts going upward towards the CV axle?

My 6112s did and I found it quite odd & pretty close to the CV axle.

But then again that's the OEM position and the bolts didn't magically get longer. Just thinking aloud.

I took it to a local shop yesterday that is known for hood work and they thought it was my lift arms binding when I turned. They said everything was tight and that is the only thing it could be. They recommended that I take it to a shop that specializes in lift kits to get a second opinion.

So I initially had noise coming from the strut top nut; replaced that with the correct nut and that issue went away.

I still also had a popping noise similar to what OP states; tightening the endlinks seemed to resolve it temporarily. At least in my case since I raised it 2", I opted for the longer AT4/TB endlinks. This rid of all popping noises entirely since the links now had clearance from the CV shafts when the steering wheel is at full lock. Hope this helps someone.

I wonder if it went away because of the return to factory height or by inadvertently fixing something from the original installation (sticking, bound up, improperly torqued, mis aligned, etc.).
