Oil loss after DOD delete

Southfl

Question

My 2015 Silverado had a lifter failure and had a DOD delete done shortly after. Ever since, I have been burning approximately 2 quarts of oil per 1,000 miles. There are no visible oil leaks and there is no smoke or residue on the inside of the muffler. Is there any insight as on where it’s going and how to fix the issue? Thanks

If it's not leaking, it's burning.

I'd have a look at the PCV system. Check behind the throttle plate of the throttle body for excessive oil pooling.

If that checks out good, and it didn't burn oil before the work was done, then EVERYTHING that was done is now suspect. Head gaskets in particular.

With the temperatures these catalytic converters see, you'll never see any oil residue on any part of the exhaust past the cats. It'll be ash inside the cat, eventually plugging them up.
