Sad result. During my time there our emissions work was cutting edge. The fact that the 6.7L engine is not a major money maker and CMI was found not doing this intentionally is even sadder. Incompetence counting ppb exhaust test bags is shocking to me from my experience. 
 

VW did it on purpose. At least CMI made a mistake. 
You can’t make compression engines run cleaner until we utilize different fuels.

Cleaner burning fuel is the key.  It can be done, but then big oil wouldn't make the money they are now.
