Hey guys,

 

I had the same problem with my 2022 refreshed silverado.

 

what I did was pull the F11 fuse for about 2 minutes. That is the video processor module (VPM) and overhead camera. I then took a drive for about 10min during the day good weather. and voila the cameras synced and the lines are back.

Where is the fuse and did you lift your truck?

I just had a similar issue, the guidelines for my back up camera disappeared. It may have coincided with a recent OTA update the truck got but can't swear to it.

 

The F11 fuse for the VPM is located in the right side passenger compartment fuse block. With the truck off but battery connected I pulled the fuse and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Visually inspected the fuse and it appeared fine. I did not drive it at all. When I reinstalled the fuse I did hear some faint clicking sounds from somewhere on the drivers side but no idea if related. Regardless, removing and reinstalling the fuse did the trick, the guidelines are back.

 Surround vision guidance mode choices can be selected in settings.

Agreed, when everything is working properly.

 

Before mine disappeared completely, the left and right vertical lines, and presumably the horizontal lines between them, converged into a single line in the middle of the screen. About 2 or 3 drive cycles after the lines converged, they disappeared. The cameras were all still working, and I could toggle between the various cameras as normal, just no guidelines. The guidelines that show the track of the front tires were also gone from the overhead view.

 

The cameras themselves, of course, don't provide the guidelines, and rebooting the infotainment system didn't resolve the issue. Resetting the VPM by pulling the fuse restored the lines, and the ability to select between the guidance modes.

I found this pulling of F11 for the VPM also fixes the glitch I get every month or more.

Basically all front windshield camera features fault out and throw a DTC, adaptive cruise control is inoperable along with lane keep assist and auto high beams.

Its like the camera or VPM or both have an issue in communication and fault out.

Always was fixed by pulling the battery for a minute but now its easier to just pull F11.

Now I just need to deep dive fixing the issue or put a toggle switch on F11 but its a three pole micro fuse which is annoying.

This may be a stupid question but is the engine on or off when pulling this fuse?

 

I pulled it a couple of weeks ago while engine was off and left it out for the afternoon - lines didn’t come back

 

however, randomly this week pulling into my drive my lines reappeared after about 10 months of absence! But they left again 3 days later …. It’s very annoying especially with a 12” lift and 37s…

Fuse F11 is for the forward collision camera.  Has nothing to do with the backup camera guide lines.

F11 in the passenger dash fuse box does handle the Video Processing Module, IF EQUIPPED, in addition to the forward collision camera.  Otherwise its just handling the forward collision camera at the top of the windshield. 

 

Only trucks with the 360 surround vision will have a video processing module.

 

My camera guidelines statement was thinking in regards to not having the 360 surround vision.  On trucks with just a backup camera, the guidelines are handled by the radio only. 

 

On trucks with 360 surround, the guidelines are handled by the VPM and the radio (displays the lines on the screen).  So that would explain why the lines came back, assuming you have the surround vision.  It likely entered self-calibration after resetting the fuse and allowed the lines to come back.   

 

Otherwise, if you have just the regular backup camera, those lines came back out of coincidence.  

 

Also, Google's AI is mixing information from another vehicle or different year Silverado/Sierra.  2022.5-current, the backup camera is coax powered on trucks without surround vision.  With surround vision, it appears to also be coax only however that coax does tie to the VPM, and the VPM is tied to fuse F11.  So if the VPM has a fault, it likely would take out the backup camera (and all others).    

 

Fuse F23 in the same fuse box was power for 2019-2022 trucks with the UVC camera option, HD backup camera.
