I recently purchased a 2022 Chevrolet 2500 HD 6.6 Gas. I’ve put about 1,000 miles on it since I’ve had it without issue. I drove out to a field to do farm work and when I got back to drive home I was met with a Service 4WD alert on the dash. I drove it home and when I put it in park, the parking break set. I shut it off and turned back on. Parking break was set and wouldn’t disengage manually.  I then put it in gear and the parking break disengaged. I’m going to call the dealer in the morning.

My 3 HDs '21, '22 and '24 all act/acted as you describe when in gear and giving it throttle but they also all released by pressing the brake pedal and then the parking brake button.  If you just press the button with no service brake application, nothing.
