Whining before shifting, hard shifting and jolting on inclines

Over the past week I've noticed some had shifts and some jolting while going up an incline. And when you listen closely it sounds like an odd whine in first and second. I thought about changing the speed sensor but i think in the model you need to pull off the valve assembly.

Ok two things. Is the fluid full and how many miles on it?

Around 114,000 miles and trans fluid is full

if it's a 6 speed , common symptoms of a tranny that is about to fail.

Any repairs to it that can be done before it completely fails

Has the fluid ever been changed out?

I'm not sure I baught it at just over 62,000 miles

take a clean white rag and pull the dipstick and wipe it across the rag, if you see black on the rag it is done

Not sure if this constitutes as black? But I could be in denial.

You can get mad at me if you want but I don't understand not servicing a trans. I would have changed the fluid when I bought it.

Even if a trans fluid change was done when bought (first should have been done at 50k anyway), it's more than due for one now.
