Comparing the cost of premium (6.2L) vs regular (5.3L) for a typical fill up is roughly a $25-$35 difference which isn't too bad.

That sounds horrible to me.  But my first tank of gas was 42 cents a gallon. So $10 would fill my tank and buy me a couple 16oz delicious cold sodas in glass bottles.  I dont want to pay $35 for a tank of fuel let alone $35 difference :)

That picture is telling.  I never really compared them side by side but as soon as I jumped in my new truck I knew it was bulky.    I still prefer the looks of my previous 2017.

I paid 27 cents a gallon. I could fill up the RX3, take my future wife to a movie and get a pizza all for 10$. I was making 3$ per hour working for my dad as a fueler and greaser after split session at school. That was 51 years ago.

Unfortunately I only got two tanks at that price. This was late 70s and gas jumped from 42 cents to over a buck.

I think have the gas I bought my first year of driving was funded from taking my dads pepsi bottles back for return.

GMT-800 was 2001 to 2007 midyear (I think it was 2001....)

GMT-900 next 2007.5 to 2013

then K2

then T1

transition years often have both the new model and previous generation available.

in 2007  the old version was called 'classic'

When T1 was introduced, the Limited was the label on the K2's they were still building.

(it's not practical for switch all supplier and assembly plant capacity to switch at the same time, so equipment/tooling changeovers are staggered)

GMT trucks are 2007-2013.  K2 series was 2014 to 2018 and the current 2019+ trucks are T1 series

Gotcha...thanks for the info
