Out of warranty is out of warranty period. Once they enter your mileage it will show out of warranty in there system and will not alter the mileage to get it covered or the dealer will have big issues with GM.

this should be an OTA update, but GM had to change it to dealer updates after bricking trucks the last time they pushed it OTA. Suddenly their incompetence is my problem. This would also be the third time I’ve taken it to the dealership because of radio issues that have yet to be resolved.

GM appears to have run a successful update. My truck just received the OTA update 25-250552 for connectivity issues and onstar corrections as listed at https://static.oemdtc.com/NHTSA-PDFs/MC-11021070-0001.pdf. It installed successfully after like 5 attempts. I don't pay for onstar and when it was ready to install the update, it dropped the bluetooth which in turn made my phones automatic trigger for mobile hotspot turn off so the update would not download (despite it being set to download in the background at all times). I had to pair my truck up to my home WiFi and let it update then it went through successfully.

I still don't have the update the newer 2024+ have for the HVAC afterblow but I noticed my blower will kick on approximately 10-15 minutes after shut down when I was sitting inside the cab to dry out the evaporator core. I did also try to use my friends scan tool to set the afterblow feature to enabled so it might be working from that feature. Time will tell though.

OTA updates -should- be able to download without WiFi or an OnStar subscription... I've never used either in my Silverado OR my Camaro for updates over the years. As long as your vehicle has decent connection from the satellites and a 4G/5G signal around you, it should be able to download the updates through one/both of those.
