I've had the issue since I bought new almost 2 years ago, no fix for it to date, I just learned to ignore it, it also will silence the directional signal sound if you have it on at the time it mutes itself. I had the newest update done and the issue is still there.

Something I just noticed and did not have a problem before the update. When someone texts me and i'm in the truck, I will receive the notification prompt and if I do not reply to the text, it is not on my phone at all aside from the notification window. For example, John Doe texts me "how is your truck since the update" while i'm driving, the radio will pop to indicate receiving a text but if I do not reply to it from my truck, my cell phone itself only shows that message in the notification drop down.

i am running a samsung galaxy s21 ultra with google messenger as my messaging app.

I also noticed this behavior is only present for people who are sending RCS chats with me. If it's a standard non-rcs message it will work just fine.

Does it continue to keep dropping out every few minutes for as long as you drive it or is it just a few times at the start of the drive?

I have had the update.  The sound drops just a few times at the start of the drive, just like it did before the update.

There are so many things controlled by computers on the vehicle.  I hope it doesn't cost a few lives with bugs in safety related software before they get this crap straightened out.

That's what mine does too. One or two short pauses right at the start of the drive.

Perhaps when the computers are syncing communication?? (wild ass guess)

Maybe a test to find out if it still happens after a longer warm-up period.

I was wondering if this is what @rrmccabe 's truck is doing too -- but it kinda sounds like his continues to do this for the entire time the truck is being driven.

It never stops but 90% of my drives are less than 15 minutes long so I don't know beyond that.   It just mutes for 1 second and comes back. If I had to guess, I would say it does it every 2 minutes.  Does to matter the media. FM, USB, Youtube Music.

So that's clearly different than what mine does -- and others commonly report.

Mine drops the audio, but the screen doesn't blank.

It will only do it a couple times and never after about the first minute of driving.

Do you think your service person is interpreting your report as having symptoms like mine?

In any case they need to make it right.

Dropping audio and blanking screen every 2 minutes is definitely not something 'they all do'.

Perhaps they need to go for a drive with you...to be sure they understand the symptoms.

My screen does not blank at same time the audio blanks out.

The audio issue is the least annoying part for me.

I often get cannot connect when trying to do Hey Google commands.  The maps section of screen will not work for 10 minutes at a time and the audio side of screen will hang up and not respond often even though the music is still playing. I am getting pretty good about tossing it in park at a stop light press and holding the end call to start the soft reset process which fixes the issues most of the time.

I had a bunch of different issues before the last update like telling me I needed a Youtube premium account when in fact I had one as I could go to Youtube Music icon and start it directly.

I am sure I am forgetting a lot of the hiccups.  Guess I just did not expect these kids of issues from the truck.  My 17 High Country worked great but in all fairness the refresh trucks have a lot more tech.

i just got my Yukon back after having this done and the Android version is still 10. is there a way i can verify that they actually did the updates? Even the invoice shows no labor hours but the recalls all have "recall complete" next to them.

Appreciate the commentary. The turn signal stalk does seem like the most likely culprit. The failure mode is not repeatable however. The wipers often come on with no interaction with the turn signal lever. Often the turn signal lever works as expected with no failure. It does fail most every time I use the vehicle to go somewhere.

It just seems to be getting a false signal to the wiper control input going to the processor or circuit. It could be caused by:

- the faulty wiper switch

- bad ground, system noise

- loose wire or contact to the wiper switch

- input to/from the rain sense control line (this truck does not have this option) is floating or not terminated properly

- software signal is telling the wipers to come on, however I can get them to go back off by cycling the wiper switch

These are my best theories at this point.

Turn the rain sense to off position and see if the issue goes away.

This basic model 2024 Silverado LT does not have the Rain Sense feature. My statement above is theorizing that the processor/computer on all these trucks still has an input on the CPU or control board even though the rain sense feature is not installed on this model. Does the optional signal pin need to be terminated or grounded when the rain sense feature is not installed. I have no idea how GM handles unused signal options on there control modules/processors. In my old school electronics experience, if an unused input is not used it should be grounded so that the input to the processor can't float above ground and send a false turn-on signal. Static charge build up or high voltage noise spikes from surrounding circuitry could jump onto to this open pin and cause a false trigger. I'm just theorizing.

I missed the part in the first post where you said you didn't have rain sense wipers...

Dealer installed this recall on my 23 Suburban RST on 11/19, yesterday on 1/9 the infotainment got totally bricked following an OTA update - "Update failed.  See dealer to restore system".  I never get any OTA warnings or anything and I did not see one yesterday - it just did it and bricked infotainment and all fancy systems - including adaptive cruise, temp sensors, turn signal sounds, etc.

Car is barely 2k out of warranty and the recall was installed literally on my last "warranty visit" to the dealer and included Serial Data Gateway module reprogramming and Radio updates.  And it was supposed to "improve future over the air updates". So basically Chevy pushed an update on my out of warranty car thus bricking it - and I'm now told I'll have to replace the infotainment system ($1400 plus labor).  And even if I buy that darn infotainment off a junkyard I'll still have to go to the dealer to program it as there's no way to DIY that.

Total Scam by GM.  we ALL should disable OTA immediately - but the dealer tells me there's no way to do it!  So even after shelling out $2K+ for repairs I'll still be leaving in a car that can be bricked at any moment by a Chevy pushed OTA update.

Your dealer is an idiot. It's literally a setting in the Infotainment to disable the auto-update feature.

Call Chevy Customer Care and open a case, tell them that your system is completely non-functional due to an OTA update that was automatically pushed to your vehicle and ask them how to get the problem corrected -under warranty- as this is not something you requested or purposefully did yourself, and you were never offered an opportunity to PREVENT the software push.

GM will cover it under warranty if they can see that it was their update that bricked it, go to a different dealer..
