Hi. As the title states, I have a 2019 Custom with the 6 Speed Transmission, (5.3 liter) and it's time to change the Trans oil amd Filter. Getting prices from $800 and up from various shops. So I already bought the parts and want to attempt the procedure myself.

Has anyone with the same Transmission done this procedure? It sure appears that the pan will clear the exaust pipe during removal, but never done this before, so I'm not certain it will.

But yeah, has anyone done this yet on their own that can give me some pointers or tips?

Much appreciated!

It's likely to hit the exhaust as you try to remove it. The easy thing to do is just unbolt the transmission mount and stick a jack and block of wood under the transfer case to lift the transmission up an inch or so to give you more clearance.

More than likely will have to move the exhaust.  There are several Youtube videos showing how to do it.

Hey, Thanks! But I can't find any videos specific to the New body style trucks with the 6 speed. Upon inspection, it sure looks like about 2" of clearance between the bottom of the pan and the top side of the exaust.

Hey, Thanks! Have you tried this method? Sure sounds easier than unfolding the exaust from the 2 manifolds.

It's not doable but if you are lucky then it will come out without messing with the exhaust.  Otherwise it will take more time.  I had to drop my exhaust on my 2002 Silverado because I couldn't get the pan out.  No big deal, just a little more work.
