I was worried about that exact thing. Mine is a 2016 5.3l. Surprisingly with pill flip, it warms up to around 120-140⁰ fairly easily and I am in Southern Wisconsin. After some highway driving and doing city driving after, it will get up into the upper 150's and 160's but then drops down after Even when trans temps are colder, especially when first driving off, it still seems to shift just fine. No harsh shifts that I've been able to feel.

When trans was replaced with a reman last spring, my updated OEM TBV was swapped over to it. On the drive home from east central Alabama, I got stuck in a couple stop and go traffic jams especially around Nashville and Indianapolis and watched the trans temp get up into the mid 180⁰ temps to even lower 190⁰. I just didn't like it and it shouldn't have been running that hot. I wasn't pulling anything either. Doing a pill flip took care of it.

I did wonder if maybe the TBV got boogered up when the original trans took its last breath. They did supposedly flush the trans cooling lines but who knows... Maybe I should just order another new one and swap it out. It's easy enough to do and I've wasted more than what they cost eating dinner out with a couple friends. Maybe once weather gets a little nicer, I will take a chance.

Im pretty sure it's already bypassed but in any case I ordered the PPE bypass and I'm interested to see how it does.  Even after rebuild I've seen temps above 200 deg. With the unit on there today.
