Employee Vehicle pricing is here. Eggs are down here and gas seems to be heading that way. Stock futures are way up. Once the dust settles it seems China will resist the most. I’ve often wondered why we fuel the beast. Bringing manufacturing here solves many problems.

Pretty interesting stuff going on. I’m not surprised. The biggest headache of course is China. As usual the biggest resistance here are the same people who said we had to do something 20 years ago. Of course lip service like usual. We created this monster. It could be a little painful for a little while. Last night I saw a Ford ad for employee pricing.

I like the idea of fair trade. There’s very smart people involved in this. Some who will put a lot on the line for this. Could lose big time. Everyone agrees this needs to be done even they say otherwise now. The common sense side of my brain is for it. Even as I watch my IRA tumble. It’s needs to be done. Imagine it as a country we default. We were heading that way.

Our previous trajectory was not sustainable

Gotta play smart   Bonds being sold by Japan made the dear leader blink. Hope he doesn’t f up taking on China. Leave every other country alone. Don’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Navarro and President didn’t go deep enough on this formula they misapplied.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/05/06/trump-tariffs-economy-sacrifices/

According to the article, President Trump has invoked special emergency and wartime powers to impose tariffs on foreign goods, citing national security concerns. He believes that Americans should make wartime sacrifices, including paying higher prices for goods, to counter the perceived threats.

The tariffs are expected to affect a wide range of goods, including consumer electronics, auto parts, diapers, medical devices, apparel, and umbrellas. Some of the products likely to get pricier soonest are just-in-time goods with shorter lead times, such as some consumer electronics and auto parts.

The article argues that Trump's policies may have unintended consequences, including:

* Higher prices for American consumers
* Job losses in industries that rely on imported goods
* A decline in economic growth

The article suggests that Trump's tariffs may be motivated by a desire to appeal to his base, rather than a genuine concern for national security.

Well here you go. You should be smart enough to know what the main purpose is. Like weakening China. And of course leveling the playing field. The end result could be of course slightly higher prices as our labor costs are higher. So the trade off cheaper products stronger China or made in the USA and a stronger USA.

Then go after China. Not everyone everything.

So we should let the others have tariffs on us or lock out our goods? If you’re paying attention the stock market is edging back up. I’m paying less for eggs and gas. Countries are coming around. Just a little more patience things will work out. I still get amazed how people are so impatient.

Oh I’m watching. The majority is holding him to his BS bravado.
Don’t be a farmer right now. He’s killing them and Brazil is gonna feed China.
Stock Market he tanked. 20-25% nose dive. I’ve recovered half that. Only small peanuts I have remaining  from my 13 year early departure from my flying career.

I want to see tariff taxes income #’s.

If he’d shut his motor mouth and allow smart people to run things like Bessent I’d be less critical but he’s a malignant narcissist, gotta get stroked and praised constantly. He’s weak.

I’m just curious how people like you think. I’m not around people who think it’s ok to give in to being taken advantage of. I’m very confident that the country will be better off with the current leadership. Trillions of dollars of investments have come in from companies who are betting on a bright future for the US. Think how you like it’s your right. I rather be positive.

Never said anything you said. It’s not for or against. Not binary thinker here Stan. I know how you think. You don’t get the other 75% of voters. Even solid MAGA is saying SHOW US. POTUS wants to run everything not be an executive. He’s had no deals to report on just BS that changes every day. Critical and looking at facts isn’t “negative”.
Critical thinking or lack there of is why we are in the position. We are in right now with I wanna be authoritarian screwing up the world markets.
If he succeeds without busting our constitution brother, I’m all positive. If he keeps going the way he is and allows his personality to drive us into the ground. It’s gonna be ugly in the midterms, but it’s also gonna be ugly when all of the Maga people get slammed because they can’t afford to live.

    • The truck is a 1995 Chevrolet S10 Blazer, 4.3 VIN "W" engine. :cracks knuckles:   On a whim - because I needed a headache - this truck was for sale so I stopped to take a look. Doesn't run. Well, it does, but barely. Long crank, choppy idle, bad misfire(s), it REEKS of fuel. I can DO this..I'm thinking. Diamond in the rough. One owner until last year. A young guy is selling it, he bought it 6 months ago. It stranded him more than once, he's got a newborn. It was in the shop 10 days ago and he "thinks" they said it needs a new fuel injection system. He can't put any more money into it, needs it gone. I was thinking of upgrading my Macbook, which is a total want, not a need. For less than the price of a new laptop I can have fun for months tinkering on this truck and enjoying it. I'm taking this truck home. The guy was beyond thrilled, his wife was there, she thanked me profusely, I could tell they were hurting. They seemed like good people in a bind.   Some parts, a wash, maybe a set of tires, and I can have a few months of fun and then turn it for beer money (or the next project).   Sure enough, there's a work order from a shop last week in the INCHES of paperwork on this truck dating back to when the first owner bought it. They put a new distributor in it, fuel injection work describes basically opening the plenum and putting it back together. He said he couldn't afford any more work so he had them button it up and that's when he put it up for sale.   I'm not well versed in 4.3. I did discover 1995 uses the 1992-1995 SCPI "Spider" injector which is riddled with issues from splitting lines, clogged or cracked poppet valves and plastic spider legs that crumble over time. Cool. I'll just order me a ne---. Oh, the auto parts store doesn't have it? Rock Auto doesn't have it. eBay? $$$$$$ for used. These are UNAVAILABLE period end of story unless you know "a guy" who's still got one in a box somewhere.   Can't upgrade to the '96-'04 injector, it's a different plenum, wiring/pinout and sensor config.   There are a few kinda "know a guy" -guy rebuild services for these injectors out there for about $350. Okay, Okay... I'd like to know if anyone has used them? Anyone got a lead on these crappy 92-95 spiders?   I also don't want to send MY spider to Narnia and back without knowing if that's truly the problem. I guess I'll need to pull apart the plenum and do some digging.   I was also thrown for a loop. This 1995 model year truck has an OBD-II connector. The interface is decidedly not OBD-II. I can read and reset trouble codes and view live data, but there's not a lot of data. Like misfire count and on what cylinder, that's not there. It's OBD-1.5.   Nothing is ever easy. Now it makes sense why this guy wanted to disappear this thing for cheap. I'm guessing the shop told him the injector is toast, the part is unobtainable and they're not going to sort sending the thing to a rando offering rebuild service on craigslist, and the kid likely can't be without a working car for 3 weeks even if they'd facilitate that.   Experience with these early SCPI's? Stories? Things to check? Sympathy? (..Nah...)   This can sit until I sort it. But I haven't had a problem with a vehicle I couldn't easily solve in a long time.
