Thinking of changing oil weight to 5W30 after GM's recent recall

@theRiver..... How long have you been doing that? Mileage? is this your 5.3? or 6.2?

The speed shop doing my cam is changing my oil weight to 5w40

Sorry;  missed this post.  

 

Been doing it for over 5 years after lifter failure and engine re-build.  Engine rebuilder said anything 30w or higher..............none of that "0w water crap"..............his words.  She's a 5.3 with 241,2xx on her now.  Rebuild was at 106,****** miles.  Yeah;  I drive a fair bit.
