Had the engine recall inspection today for my 2024 6.2l Silverado. Naturally, the  dealership says it passed (of course they don’t want to do warranty work) and when I asked about the extended warranty that I had read about I was told that’s not the case and I only had the remainder of the original factory warranty. Can this be right? Also, since I bought this truck I have had an intermittent multiple cylinder misfire. Several times a week the engine begins violently misfiring, sometimes even triggering the CEL to flash. If I pull over and turn the engine off then restart it goes away. I’ve had it in to the dealership twice now to check this, once back in April and now again today while performing  the recall work. Both times I’m told that they can see the P0300 codes in the history but but that because the CEL is not currently on and they did not experience the misfire themselves there is nothing they can do. Any suggestions on where I can find out about the warranty and what I can do about the misfire since the local Chevy dealer basically tells me to pound salt?

Check this posting on NHTSA:

Look at special coverage on second page. Here is the text:

This special coverage covers if an engine failure occurs in the vehicle as a result of the condition

described above for a period of 10 years or 150,000 miles (240,000 km), whichever occurs first, from the

date the vehicle was originally placed in service, regardless of ownership.

Just had my '23 Silverado (7500 miles) test done.  Dealer said it passed no issue.  Upgraded oil to 0W40 supercar.

Fixed!  Right?

Dealer said I did get the extended warranty.  They also said every truck tested (5-6) so far has passed.

My '23 Silverado 6.2 with a hair over 25K is in the shop for the test as I type this. It has zero symptoms so I fully expect it to pass.

Silverado8810 - the recall notice you received from Chevrolet/GM advising you to schedule the inspection (same notice I received) states, in writing, (under the "What will we do?" section, paragraph 2) that the engine warranty is 10 yr/150K miles for this particular issue, if it passes the inspection/test.

Whover advised you otherwise at the dealer is misinformed.

The special coverage is extended for engine failure ONLY.

If you've got a bad plug or a coil or injector causing that misfire, it would only be covered under either bumper to bumper or regular powertrain 5/60 potentially, depending on what's causing the issue.

The 10/150k extended warranty is only for 6.2 engine failure.  So even after the new oil, if it locks up running or is knocking and spun bearings, they will replace the engine.  If you passed the test, you have this coverage.

yes, my understanding is the extended warrany is for IF it fails for that particular issue.

See post #2 above: “if an engine failure occurs in the vehicle as a result of the condition described above…”

I was told that if the vehicle was made in Canada and imported to the US, the extended warranty is void for the hundred thousand mile 10 year powertrain on the 6.2 L
