HELP NEEDED WHAT PARTS TO CONVERT 3500 SRW to DRW

I would like to covert my 3500 SRW long bed to a DRW . Can I do this with just different rear hubs and axle shafts ? Or is it best just to find a used axle ?

By the time you get an axle, bed, etc. Maybe it’s best to just buy a dually if you want one.

Even with the hit on selling/trading in, you're almost certainly better off just doing that and buying a dually.

like I posted on your other thread, the axle is a different width, so it's not just hubs and axle shafts.

there is a regular and a wide stance rear axle, the frames are the same for single or dual rear wheels. in this case he is doing a conversion, so mounting the axle is the same. you would need a lot of parts to convert your axle, it probably would be better to source a used axle with the same gear ratio. where i live they are a dime a dozen. tow truck wars they are burning these truck all the time

Probably not as big a deal as being made out.

 

If I wanted to do this, I'd, start with a used axle then throw a flatbed on it and roll.

 

Next, you'll probably want to think about spare tire/wheel...
