sperry Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Yep! you do have to rewire the `burb amp connectors. For those of you who feel you had enough viewing here, perhaps you would enjoy a little reading over HERE only 900 + posts (to date) of my topic there. Edit: Updated it - The previous one was intended for the amp connectors only. As it grew older, I sidelined the RSA connections, some folks were asking about. Try this one, It has some corrections New X-Ref Chart 12-31-04 (Prem-To-Lux_Amp_Conn_Rewire.ZIP) HTH!
msnyder Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 EDIT: Nevermind, answered my own question...
linda Posted December 28, 2004 Author Posted December 28, 2004 ahh ok so the vss is basicly for the navigation map while im driving for the icon to move smoothly and not stop and skip what about the gps antenna dose that have to be mounted under the dash cause i really hate to take the dash pad off and also what about the cdx error i capped off a couple of wires when i installed the 6disc dose one of those wires need to be conected to the wire harness?please help me! lol <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Not 100% sure, but i dont think the non-lux NAVs have a CDX option on them. Thats is probably why you are getting the error. Thats what i have heard anyhow. You need to go full LUXURY to successfuly add the CDX option i think. The wires you capped off are speaker wires and have nothing to do with functionality. Thats all done through the class II wire. By toggling through on your steering wheel to reach the CDX, you are sort of opening a "backdoor" to it as the BCM will recognize another device, however the HU will not. Thats my best guess.
04Silverado53 Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 well i got the cd changer working! when i first tested it the nav was not unlocked i just did the little trick that lets you play with it till you start it or shut the truck off but now that the dealer did the unlock it works perfect with the cdx button so now im just waiting on the gps antenna from gmpartsdirect and as for the vss wire where do i get that wire from?
BBSilverado Posted December 29, 2004 Posted December 29, 2004 The easiest place to tap into the VSS wire is the connector to the instrument cluster. It is A4 on the connector and it is a dark green with a white tracer
sperry Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 BB - the "Non-Bose 10351123" nav.. `Wished it was true! It comes back as a Rendezvoux HU. (Or was it a Ranier?) anyway, whichever one, there was no base option for the particular model! External amp only systems... Hmmmm. Any other info?
BBSilverado Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 BB - the "Non-Bose 10351123" nav.. `Wished it was true! It comes back as a Rendezvoux HU. (Or was it a Ranier?) anyway, whichever one, there was no base option for the particular model! External amp only systems... Hmmmm. Any other info? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is from a Rendezvoux and so is part #10352079. I have one installed In my 04 Silverado regular cab and I don't have the Bose system since GM wouldn't put it in a regular cab. The HU looks and fuctions just like the non-lux Bose one (15204334) but in has its own amp built in. It even says "sound by Bose" with the Bowtie on the start up screen. It does work with Onstar, XM, steering wheel controls, and the 6 disc changer, I don't know about RSA or RSE since I don't have that but I would guess it would. I bought it from Model electronics Inc. for $1318.30 (#10352079) The 10351123 is also the same but was not in stock at the time. I can send you pics if you would like to see it.
sperry Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 OK, that's interesting news! BTW, the 15204334 is a Lux INR! Same as with the 15204335. The 4335 has the radio/aux window in the nav screen if you want it.

04Silverado53 Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 BBS looks sweet man i love your truck just curious why is your onstar buttons on the dash and not in the rear view mirror did you ad it?
sperry Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 All after the 4334 have that, that I have seen. OK, the 2079 is an INR.. Was the other P/N they were out of stock an INR or TNR?
BBSilverado Posted January 2, 2005 Posted January 2, 2005 It is an INR, I haven't found a TNR with internal amps yet.
FplcMan Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 Ok… I went over this post and this is what I think I need… I just purchased (Today) a 2004 Envoy XUV with the 1SC package and UB1 radio. I want to install the TNR… What I need is: 10377287 nav unit 15135178 GPS Antenna. If I want to use the other system I need 1037751 nav unit 15135178 GPS Antenna Amp Is this correct? Thanks Steve
vipertestdriver Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 I have been reading some your comments on adding a Navigation unit to various GM trucks and SUV's. I have tried some of the part #'s and they appear to be discountinued the changer in particular. asfar as rewiring is there more than the 3 wires to the remote changer?also is there a nonlux INR nav or its just the TNR ver. only?
