Sticking with the AC/Delco plugs will be just fine in my opinion, Thats what the vehicle came from the factory with and thats what the vehicle runs best with. contrary to popular belief there is no big noticible performance gain with other brands of spark plugs. As it stands, I have the AC/Delcos in my Silverado AND I even put the Rapidfires in my 95 Crown Victoria (I'm not a huge fan of Motorcrap parts) and both vehicles run just fine.

I've experimented with different types of plugs in previous vehicles and I'll have to agree with Ryan. I have never seen any improvements in mileage or performance. I've had Splitfires, Bosch Platinums, etc. and my opinion is that as long as you have the correct heat range and they are gapped to spec, the factory plugs will work just fine.

From my personal exp. I have found some plugs work

better in certain engines then others. Had a 99 nbs

2500 w/ 6.0 and 75000 miles, pulled factory style plugs out

and put in Bosch plat. + 2. I really wasnt expecting any

differance but was surprised at the results. I had put 285

mud tires on this truck and had some power loss from that.

After putting the new plugs in it would move at idle when

i would take foot off gas. Before it would not. I had better

acceleration from a stop then I did before, so after getting

a new 2500hd w/ 6.0 last fall I changed the factory plugs

and put in Bosch plat. +2. Again better power on acceleration.

For $24 it was worth the gain.

I change mine in my '97 and used AC Delco. I figured that if they made it 100,000 miles with no trouble, they must be pretty good. Changed the wires, rotor and cap also. Really wasn't much difference in the way it ran after the change. I figured if it didn't change much that the old plugs must not have been that bad. Stick with AC Delco IMO.
