Power Mirrors

The defrost function on my drivers side mirror cut out about a year ago and now the mirror moves like it is full of sand or something. It makes a loud grinding noise and moves herky-jerky. The right mirror still defrosts, but is not in too much better shape. Anyone else have these problems? I did notice that I had to lay on the switch a little to maintain power/movement to the mirrors. Could the switch be going bad?

Mine does it once in a while too.... not too sure why...

 

Anybody know of any known issues?

Mine were moving pretty slow last fall, so I took the switch out, took it apart and cleaned the contacts with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. It made a big difference. They move noticible quicker, and smoother, than they did before. I was kind of suprise that fixed it, I was just taking a shot in the dark.
