Well, my truck is in front of my house right now, with the keys in it.... LOCKED. And I dont have a spare set anymore..(Lost them :troll: )..

So the question is - How would I go about opening my truck!

I have a 2000 Extended Cab Sierra, with Remote Locks.

FYI - I dont want to spend the money for a lock smith :bs:

A few Options:

AAA

Local Recker Company

Police

Try sliding your sliding back window (my friend used to be able to do this)

If you dont want to pay, I'de start with the Police. If you ever get back into your truck I would sugest getting some spare keys made up. Pretty embarising being locked out of your truck at your house. :bs:

EDIT: You could also go to a chevy dealer and have them CUT You a Key from the VIN number. But they will need proof of owner ship.

I do not know if this would work on your truck but it has work on older early 90's chevys and on jeeps cherokees. take a knife and at the upper right corner slide the knife thru and turn slightlywhile pulling toward you , this should allow you enough room to put an object something like a metal brake line antennae or even the connecting rods from your tire jack to push the button to unlock you door.

I'd try the local pd. Depending on where you live, they may do lockouts for a vehicle that's not running...we don't at my place(only running or a kid inside), but the city I used to volunteer for did.

Thanks for the input guys, wish me luck this morning, i've got a baseball game for which my parents are taking me, but when i return it all starts!

But how much would a new key cost?

Thank You again!

See if you know anyone else that has a GM key - Chevy or GMC you'd be surprised how easy it is to get into another GM with just about any new style GM key.

Hope this helps.

This is scary but true!!! All major manufacturers seem to have vehicles out there that other peoples keys will unlock. They won't start, but they can unlock the doors.

Last time I did this, it cost me about six bucks from the stealership.

Took about 10 minutes.

Well, be careful with the door. I pulled my door back at the top right corner to get a hanger inside, and I ended up bending it a little. No big deal, but I notice it EVERY time I get in my Tahoe. Oh yeah, I locked BOTH sets of my keys in while it was running on the FIRST day I bought it! I was trying to program the new remote.
