AC Problem

The air in my 01 Silverdao blows nice and cold. But if I push the snow flake button so that the little light is off it still blows cold air like the AC is still on. So it is like the AC is stuck on and this is going to kill my fuel millage. I wonder if the AC still runs if the blower switch is in the off position?

 

Has anybody else run into a problem like this. Could it be a bad switch or relay somewhere? Or is this the way it is supposed to run?

It will run regarless if it is in defrost/dashboard vents settings.

Make sure it is not in recirculation mode.

It takes time for the evaporater to warm up...the A/C compressor may be off,but the fins on the evap. core would still be cool till it warms up...
