Whent to start my truck this afternoon and it started very rough. Whould not go above 500 rpms. As soon as I started it, it shook real hard at about 300 rpms for about 15 to 20 secounds. Reved it up for a while and when I let of it goes down to 300 rpms and then back to 500 rpms shaking the hole time. All my gagues look ok. Also the truck has not been driven or started for about two days. This is the first time this has happen. Anybody know whats going on? :jester:

New problem guys. Went back out to my truck to start it and as soon as I turned it on I heard a loud pop under the hood and all the power shut off. Also could hear all the relays clicking with no power and the key off. ??? :jester::lol:

ps: no power at all. Took the leads off of the battery for a while and it just did the same thing again.

Is the SES (service engine soon) light on when it was running?

Could be a bad cam sensor, fuel pressure regulator, coolant temp sensor...these r just guess' If it has less than 50k mi on it,should still be covered under the Federal Emissions Warranty

No the SES light was not on when it was running. When you turn the key on it will fade in and out. Still no power. Checked my records and found the battery is not even a year old yet so it could not be the battery, right???

Age of the Battery does not matter...I've seen new ones go bad right after installation, Check the cable connections while you're at it

Good news guys. I guess I did not clean the battery leads good enough. Dad and I cleaned them again and everything is good so far. Glad we took care of the problem so I didnt have to take it to the dealership and spend money on it. :sigh:
